Bengaluru, Dec 18 (IANS) Business software solutions major SAP India has become the top place to work in India among tech companies in 2019, followed by Adobe and enterprise software major VMware, leading job portal Indeed said on Wednesday.

Microsoft is at the fourth spot while the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is at the fifth position, said the report prepared on the basis of employee ratings and reviews available on Indeed.

In addition to ISRO, e-commerce companies Myntra, PayTM and Flipkart, and IT service providers Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Mphasis, are other Indian organizations to be featured on the Top-15 list.

Tech giants like Cisco, IBM, Apple, Amdocs and Genpact completed the top-rated workplaces for 2019, the job site said in a statement.

“It is important for companies to work towards building an inclusive workplace and creating a culture of ownership and loyalty among their employees in order to increase overall productivity,” said Sashi Kumar, Managing Director, Indeed India.

“Companies that go beyond strategic workplace programmes to create a conducive work environment have been seen to have a positive impact on the employee’s perception of the organization,” Kumar added.

Nearly 63 per cent of job seekers say that online company reviews by current and former employees are the most important factor when trying to decide whether to apply for a role at a company.

The top workplaces on the list this year continue to be MNCs – “a clear indication that despite economic shifts, Indian job seekers still see greater scope for career advancement and work exposure in large international firms”.

According to the report, the companies that are featured this year have worked consistently to cater to the needs of their employees so that they can achieve the career trajectory they desire, in addition to having satisfying work experience, as evidenced by employee ratings on their Company Pages.

A glance through SAP India’s Company Page on Indeed highlights that employees at the company value the prospects for personal growth and career advancement, as well as the company’s innovative work culture.

“We at SAP are delighted to be recognized as the leading technology organization to work for in India by Indeed. Together with our employees, we have created a non-hierarchical, diverse and inclusive culture which speeds up our innovation and helps our customers to run at their best,” said Sindhu Gangadharan, Senior Vice President and Head of SAP Labs India.

A recent survey by Indeed indicated that a vast majority (97 per cent) of job seekers in India deem it essential to have insight into a company’s employer reputation when they are considering a new job opportunity.

Nearly 95 per cent of job seekers say it is important to have access to up-to-date information about a company during the evaluation stage.

“Employer reputation is a key factor considered by job seekers when deciding which companies to apply to. It is therefore important for companies to be transparent and share employer information online through platforms where it can be accessed easily,” said the report.

Indeed allows job seekers to search millions of jobs on the web or mobile in over 60 countries and 28 languages. More than 250 million people each month search for jobs, post resumes, and research companies on Indeed, said the company.
