Jharkhand chief minister, Hemant Soren directed all the state school administrations not to bar any of the students with unpaid fees from taking class 10th and 12th board examinations on Monday, February 11, 2020. An official release issued said that schools cannot prevent student to appear in the exam due to non-payment of fees.

This decision is made after several incidents that happened earlier across the state, where many students were stopped taking the exams who fails to make a payment of fees.

The rule applies to all public, private and Coal India Limited-run schools, the release added.

Chairing a meeting of the Education and Literacy department, Soren asked the officials to ensure that such incidents are not repeated for the upcoming board examinations, it said.
