Senior AAP leader Ashutosh resigns from the party

Aam Aadmi Party leader Ashutosh on Wednesday announced his decision to quit the party. Ashutosh said he resigned from the AAP due to a personal reason. “Every journey has an end. My association with AAP which was beautiful/revolutionary has also an end. I have resigned from the PARTY/requested PAC to accept the same. It is purely from a very very personal reason,” Ashutosh tweeted.

Politely denying media from giving any further information or replies to their questions, he requests in his tweet, “To media friends. Please respect my privacy. I won’t be giving any bite of any kind,” he added. Anchor-turned-politician Ashutosh is among the founding leaders of the AAP.

Ashutosh is also a former Indian TV journalist and has worked with IBN7 of TV18 group as Managing Editor. Later he joined Aam Aadmi Party and served as the spokesperson of AAP.

The party’s ecision to not to nominate him to Rajya Saha had straind the relations between Ashutosh and AAP in the past few months. It is said that he had started to distance himself from the party calling his busy schedule a major reason behind this. According to him, he was busy working on his next book which is expected to be released by October this year.
