In a sudden turn of events, senior leader of Samajwadi Party and Rajya Sabha MP Beni Prasad Verma was hospitalised in Ghaziabad on Tuesday afternoon. The exact reason why he has been admitted in the hospital is not yet known.
Verma has served as the Public Works Department minister for the State of Uttar Pradesh in India for several years. He has also served as the Union Communications Minister in Deve Gowda’s cabinet from 1996-98.
Verma was with Samajwadi Party of Mulayam Singh Yadav, then he joined Indian National Congress and was elected on its ticket to Lok Sabha in 2009. He was also a member of All India Congress Working Committee (CWC).
In 2016 he rejoined Samajwadi Party. After returning to SP, he was sent to the Rajya Sabha.
