At the closing bell of August 7, 2019, the Sensex was 286.35 points down, closing at 36,690.50. The Nifty, on the other hand, lost 92.80 points and closed at 10,855.50.
As many as 1348 shares saw a decline, while 1107 shares advanced, 159 shares of the total remained unchanged.
Sectoral indices except for IT and pharma, lost points. BSE midcap and smallcap index ended with losses as well.
