Sensex surges 1,422 points, Nifty climbs 421 points as markets close at record highs after exit polls predict NDA win.
In the early hours of trading on Monday, BSE Sensex leapt around 960 points , May 20 to 38,895.06. The NSE Nifty rose over 280 points to 11,693.70 points in the early trade.
The surge in the benchmark indices arrived a day after various exit polls suggested the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Non Democratic Alliance’ huge victory in the Lok Sabha elections 2019.
The analysts have earlier suggested that the market may cross the hit all-time high today. Sensex in the last session on Friday closed at 37,930.77 points, While NSE Nifty50 ended 1.33 percent up at 11,407.15 points.
