Taking to her social media handle, Shilpa Shetty Kundra said- Bahattarwe (72nd) Gantantra Diwas ki dheron shubhkaamnayein. Happy Republic Day to every Indian. Let’s pledge to uphold the rights & duties that our constitution has given us… not only for ourselves but also for each of our fellow citizens ! Jai Hind! Swasth rahiye, mast rahiye, mask pehen kar surakshit rahiye.

Though she edited the post, later on, the damage had been done, as trolls showed no mercy on her messing up swantantra- Independence with Republic Day. None the less, the actress tried to make it right, and that counts. Take a look at Shilpa Shetty’s tweet and replies which started coming on her tweet here:

As India celebrates its 72nd Republic Day, it is a matter of great pride, as during the covid-19 situation as well, the tricolour was unfurled at the Delhi’s Rajpath in the presence of Ram Nath Kovind, President of India, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The parade went from Rashtrapati Bhavan and s total of 32 tableaux — 17 of various states and UTs, nine of ministries and six from the defence arm — were seen going down at  Rajpath.
