Kolkata, July 2 (IANS) With just two days in hand for her gala wedding reception, Bengali actress and newly-elected MP Nusrat Jahan is personally inviting eminent guests and taking special care of the dessert (including special sweet from Basirhat) and Bengali food section.
The beautiful sewing-themed invite for the reception on July 4 at ITC Royal had been sent out to film directors, actors that Nusrat has worked with, important names from the field of politics along with family and friends.
Without revealing the theme of the evening, a close associate of Nusrat told IANS: “The cuisine is a mix of Italian, Bengali, pure vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. The vegetarian section is being planned carefully keeping her in-laws’ (who are Jains) guest list in mind.
But the actress is taking care of the Bengali food section as she loves Hilsa, Prawn and Bhetki preparations. Delectable Biryani will be there for sure.
“Nusrat has a sweet tooth so she is taking special care of the Desserts. Special Makha Sandesh from Basirhat is a part of the menu along with several sweets fused with mangoes,” he said.
The beautiful actress had looked every bit the traditional bride in a red designer lehenga as she tied the knot with her businessman beau Nikhil Jain in the picturesque Turkish town of Bodrum on June 19.
“This red lehenga look and most other attires except one were designed by Rangoli (Jain’s textile chain) with inputs from Nikhil himself. For the reception, let us see how she surprises everyone. We will have to wait to see if it is any popular designer or again Nikhil has planned something special for her,” he said.
The young MP has started making personal phone calls to the likes of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, senior Trinamool Congress leaders like Partha Chatterjee, Kolkata mayor Firhad Hakim, Abhishek Banerjee and also eminent industrialists of Kolkata.
Food and Supplies minister Jyotipriyo Mullick and all the MLAs under Basirhaat constituency from where the young actress won the Lok Sabha poll have received personal invitations.
Bengali superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee, actor-cum-MP Dev Adhikari, actor Jeet, the entire family of Moon Moon Sen, Swastika Mukherjee, director Birsa Dasgupta, Srijit Mukherji and an array of celebrities are likely to be amongA the glitterati at the gala.
Last but not least, actor-MP Mimi Chakraborty, Nusrat’s best friend undoubtedly will be there by her side.
