Sonakshi Sinha Birthday Special: Lesser-known facts about ‘Lootera’ actor

Asli Sona aka Sonakshi Sinha blow candles on June 2. In a short period, Asli Sona (as she is fondly called by the fans) has managed to carve a special place in the hearts of the audience.

Sonakshi, who made her Bollywood debut with the movie ‘Dabbang’ co-starring Salman Khan, is not only a polished actor but also has major skills in canvas painting and sketching. The actor has made quite a few peculiar art pieces during the coronavirus lockdown. Making a perfect use of her art, Asli Sona has recently, collaborated with FanKind (a private social service organisation that raises funds for charity work) and auctioned her artworks to help raise funds to provide meals to daily wagers and less privileged.

The actor also had a war of words with filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri based over a throwback picture posted by Sonakshi Sinha during the lockdown.

Vivek Agnihotri had shared a post and wrote, who shoots in Such times? Sonakshi also urged Mumbai Police to know about the procedure of spreading fake news. “Excuse me @MumbaiPolice, @OfficeofUT what is the procedure to stop people from spreading rumors and fake news at a time like this? Asking for a responsible citizen, sitting at home, practicing social distancing and NOT shooting – ME,” she wrote.

Sonakshi Sinha latest movies include Dabangg 3, Mission Mangal, and Khandaani Shafakhana. While Sonakshi managed to smash box office records with her very first film but it is with Lootera that she managed to shut her critics.  It was an unconventional love story based on O. Henry’s The Last Leaf.  Her portrayal as Pakhi is remembered by one all to date and the movie is considered as a timeless classic.

Lesser-known facts about ‘Lootera’ actor:

Sonakshi lost 30 kgs to play Rajjo in her debut film, 2010’s Dabangg.

Sonakshi donated her first movie Dabangg remuneration to Salman Khan’s NGO ‘Being Human’.

Sonakshi kick-started her career as a model, walking the ramp at Lakme Fashion week in 2008, and then again in 2009.

Sonakshi started her career as a costume designer for the movie, “Mera Dil Leke Dekho” in the year 2005.

Sonakshi was a student of fashion designing at ANDT College where she studied for three years.

In 2012, Sinha dubbed the voice of Tooth in Rise of the Guardians.
