The batting in the game has evolved immensely since the game began in the late 19th century. Many new categories of shots have been developed over the years, such as the sweep shorts, reverse sweep, dil scoop, uppercut, helicopter shot and of course the switch hit. In the bowling department too some new types have emerged such as the doosra and chinaman. But the regulators of the game have somewhat been more inclined towards innovations brought in by the batsmen than they have been towards that of the bowlers.
Some similar incident took place when an Indian bowler tried his new bowling stance. In a video that went viral on the social media, Shiva Singh can be seen trying something totally out of the box.

In a U-23 game between Uttar Pradesh and Bengal, Shiva started his run normally. But just a couple of steps into it, he turned a full 360 degree, still managing to bowl the delivery perfectly at the end of it.

Though the batsman had no problems in facing the ball, the umpire at the other end adjudged it as a dead ball. The action received varied responses, ranging from Bishan Bedi’s “Weirdo!” to Michael Vaughan’s tweet of praise.

The jury remains out on the issue, we are waiting to see how this one goes!
