Supaul Lok Sabha Constituency, Bihar: Current MP, Candidates, Polling Date and Election Results

Supaul is one of the five constituencies in Bihar to go on polls in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2019. Sitting Member of Parliament & Congress leader Ranjeet Ranjan is Mahaghatbandhan candidate while Dileshwar Kamait is the Janta Dal United candidate.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Ranjeet Ranjan of Congress won the seat in the, defeating Janata Dal (United) candidate Dileshwar Kamait by more than 23.000 votes.

The voting for Bihar’s 40 Parliamentary seats will take place in seven phases beginning April 11. The last phase will be held on May 19.

According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), 1,279,549 is the total electorate count in the Supaul Lok Sabha Constituency. 672,904 number of electorates are males and the remaining 606,645 are belong to the female category as the Election commission of India 2009 data reads.

According to the estimates of the 2011 census, out of total 2,229,076 population, there were 1,155,283 males and 1,073,793 females in Supaul district.

Supaul Lok Sabha constituency comprises the following six Vidhan Sabha (legislative assembly) segments: Nirmali, Pipra, Supaul, Triveniganj, Chhatapur, Singheshwar

In Phase III of the voting for the 17th Lok Sabha, elections will take place in 115 Lok Sabha constituencies across 14 states. Voting for this phase will take place on April 23. While, like all the other phases, counting will take place in May 23.

Along with Lok Sabha Elections, voting will also take place for the third phase of Odisha Assembly Elections 2019. The turnout in the last general election in 2014 was more than 66%, up from 45% in 1951 when the first election was held.
