In a highly tragic incident, at least three people got injured while one lost life after an old three-storey building of an embroidery factory in Katargam area of Surat city collapsed on Saturday. At least three people trapped there were rescued and admitted to a private hospital.
Upon receiving the information about the incident, officials from five stations reached the spot, cordoned off the area, took details from neighbours and started removing the debris. Four persons trapped below the debris were rescued and admitted to SMIMER hospital.
According to the reports, 21-year-old Shiv Naresh Bhole, a resident of Gotalawadi area, was declared dead on arrival, while the other three were identified as Kantaben Machhi, Amar Bahadur Deshraj, and Shree Ravi. Doctors claimed that Kantaben is out of danger, while the remaining two are critical.
