Sushant Singh Rajput’s starrer ‘Chhichhore’ has won the National Films Award 2019 for the Best Hindi Film.

Ace entertainment journalist Faridoon Shahryar took to Twitter and announced the news. He wrote, “BREAKING: #SushanthSinghRajput ‘s #Chhichhore has been awarded the best Hindi film. #NationalFilmAwards2019.”

About Chhichhore:

Helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film also stars Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Sharma, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Prateik Babbar, Naveen Polishetty, Tushar Pandey in lead roles. The film hit the theaters on September 6, 2019 and collected Rs 215 crores.

The film which was a major hit the plot revolved around a bunch of engineering students and their journey from being losers to choosers. Chhichhore was the last blockbuster hit by late Sushant Singh Rajput.

The lead actor died by suicide on June 14, 2020. His untimely death arose a severe controversy revolving nepotism in Bollywood.

67th National Film Awards:

This time, there were 461 films in the Feature Film category and 220 films in the Non-Feature Film category. In the most film-friendly states, there were entries from 13 states.

The winners were announced on March 22, 2021, in a press conference at the National Media Centre, New Delhi. The full ceremony was available for streaming on PIB India’s Facebook page as well as the official YouTube channel.
