A Bench headed by Justice Arun Mishra was to pronounce its verdict against Bhushan, who faced simple imprisonment of up to six months or with a fine of up to Rs 2,000 or with both as punishment under Contempt of Court Act.
On August 25, a bench comprising Justices Arun Mishra, B.R. Gavai and Krishna Murari had reserved the order on the sentence, after Bhushan declined to apologize for the tweets.

Bhushan said the apology cannot be a mere incantation; and any apology has to, as the court has itself put it, be sincerely made.

A bench headed by Justice Arun Mishra told senior advocate Dushyant Dave, representing Bhushan, “We are always fair to you. We do not know whether you are fair to us.”
The Supreme Court said hearing on the quantum of punishment will be held on August 20.
Senior advocate Sajan Poovayya, representing Twitter Inc, California, the US, contended before the top court that he will advise his client to delete the offensive tweets.
A bench headed by Justice Arun Mishra and comprising Justices B R Gavai and Krishna Murari will take up the matter on Wednesday.
