On Thursday, a 33-year-old man from Othakadai in Madurai was arrested for uploading child pornographic content. It is the second incident after a series of incidents that occurred in Madurai, two people from Arapalayam got taken into custody on Tuesday.
He was arrested based on an input received from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) Cyber Tripline Report.
Police caught the accused by tracing his IP address. Around 10-15 videos and a number of images of child pornography were seized from him, police added.
Police sources said that in 2019, he was found uploading and watching child pornographic content online.
Sundarapandi B is the accused and he works as a driver residing in Ayyapa Nagar, Othakadai. He had uploaded child pornographic content on an Instagram page.
The Othakadai police have lodged an FIR against Sundarapandi under the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act and sections under the IT Act regarding misuse of technology, and are currently investigating the reach of the crime.
