Tamil Nadu will witness the polling for the assembly elections on Tuesday amid tight security in the state. Polling across 234 assembly constituencies in 38 districts of the state began at 7 am. A total of 3,998 candidates are in the poll fray.

Along with the general public, celebrities are being spotted at the election booth to cast their votes.

In this episode, Tamil Nadu’s celebrated actor Vijay, who is fondly known as Thalapathy was spotted on a cycle to reach the election booth. Pictures and videos of the actor is doing rounds on the internet where Vijay can be seen cyling his way. He can be seen wearing a white half shirt and jeans. Given the necessary precautions, he is also donning a mandatory mask.

While Tamil Nadu will witness a political battle between two massive political alliances, one led by the Congress-DMK and another by BJP-AIADMK, the battle in Puducherry will see the NR-Congress-BJP alliance, taking on the Congress-DMK alliance.

In view of COVID-19, the number of polling stations has been increased to 88,937. The counting of votes will be done on May 2.

The state, which witnessed the fiercest electoral battles between M Karunanidhi of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and J Jayalalitha of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) for over three decades, now is going to Assembly polls on April 6 for the first time without the two stalwarts of Dravidian politics.
