Tamil Nadu police have arrested a 29-year-old man for allegedly organising “Corona Virundhu” (Corona Feast) in Thanjavur district. Along with a man, Sivaguru, police also booked few of his friends after they organised the ‘feast’ at Thyagasamudram village on Wednesday amid coronavirus lockdown across the country defying social distancing.
The video went viral on the social media following he himself upload it on Facebook, titled “Corona Virunthu”. According to the report, Sivaguru cooked food at a secluded place and seen consuming it with his friends on plantain leaves in the viral video.

Police arrested and booked them under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) and 3 of Epidemic Disease Act and Section 67 of the Information Technology (IT) Act.
A police complaint was lodged by the Village Administrative Officer, Divyakumari.
