Tea seller near Uddhav Thackeray’s house ‘Matoshree’ found positive of COVID-19

With 120 fresh cases, the Covid-19 tally in Maharashtra on Monday has gone up to 868

Mumbai: A tea vendor near famous ‘Matoshree’, the private residence of Maharashtra Chief Minster Uddhav Thackeray in suburban Bandra, has been found positive for novel coronavirus infection, a civic body official issued a statement to media on Monday.

The BMC, however, has sprayed disinfectants in the area to contain the spread of COVID-19.

“The vendor runs a tea stall in the locality. After he was found positive, contact tracking is going on,” he said.

With 120 fresh cases, the Covid-19 tally in Maharashtra on Monday has gone up to 868, a Health official said.

“Out of the 120 people, 68 have tested positive from Mumbai city alone and 41 from Pune,” he said.

“The remaining cases includes two each from Vasai-Virar area, Satara and Ahmednagar, three from Aurangabad and one each from Jalna and Nashik,” he added.
