The Telangana Police on Monday dismantled an interstate drug racket, apprehending two men at Pedda Amberpet. The Rachakonda Police Commissionerate reported that the Special Operations Team (SOT) from LB Nagar, in conjunction with Hayath Nagar police, facilitated the arrests.
The suspects were identified as Vanchurbha Konda Babu (30) and Vanchurbha Balakrishna (20), both of whom are natives of Andhra Pradesh. Authorities confiscated 13.5 kilograms of hashish oil valued at approximately Rs14 crores, along with Rs2,000 in cash, two mobile phones, and packaging materials from the duo.
According to police, the cousins were involved in procuring hashish oil from Andhra Pradesh and Odisha and transporting it to be sold in Bengaluru, with Hyderabad serving as a transit point. The partnership began after Konda Babu was introduced to drug trafficking by a contact made during a visit to a local cattle market. On August 11, the duo was arrested while awaiting a buyer at Taaza Foods Hotel in Pedda Amberpet.
