Sri Lankan all-rounder Thisara Perera showed his good form in the recently concluded ODI-series against New Zealand. He continued his form as he scored 74-runs off just 26 deliveries against Chittagong Vikings in Bangladesh Premier League.
Thisara Perera is currently playing for Comilla Victorians in on-going Bangladesh Premier League. The 14th match of Bangladesh Premier League 2019 was played between Comilla Victorians and Chittagong Vikings. After winning the toss Mushfiqur Rahim captain for Chittagong Vikings opt to bowl first.
Comilla Victorians were struggling at 86-5 in the 14th over before Perera came to bat at number 6. Perera was left with very fewer deliveries to be faced and so he kick-started the innings from the very next over. He smashed a total of 8 sixes and 3 boundaries in his innings to stretch the score of his team to a competitive 184 runs.
Thisara Perera faced a total of 26 balls from which he capitalised 74 runs. In the 19th over of Victorians’ innings, Perera blasted 30 runs including four sixes, a boundary and also completed a couple of runs. The over was bowled by Chittagong’s South African medium pacer Robbie Frylinck.

However, the match was won by Chittagong Vikings by 4 wickets despite the beautiful innings played by Thisara Perera. Vikings captain Mushfiqur Rahim was named as the Player of the match for contributing 75 runs off 41 balls.
It was a disappointment for Thisara Perera and his side moreover it’s hard luck as the format of the game keeps switching fortunes. Further action from Bangladesh Premier League will resume after a day’s break again on Tuesday.
