Tamil Nadu Board Class 12th HSE Result 2020 Live Updates: The Higher Secondary or class 12 exam results will be announced today, on July 7 at 5 PM by the Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary education on its official website. More than 9 lakh students who appeared in the class 12th exams will get their result today at 5 PM.
The Directorate of Government Examination (TNDGE) held the plus two exams in March 2020 however, because of the COVID lockdown, papers of a few subjects were left. Even though the government cancelled the SSLC and plus one exam but decided to conduct the remaining HSE, VHSE exams later.
The candidates who have taken the TN HSC or Tamil Nadu class 12th examinations can check their results on the official website of the board at tnresults.nic.in, dge1.tn.nic.in and dge2.tn.nic.in.
After visiting the website, students must click on the ‘download’ result link. Then, key in their registration number/ roll number. The result will appear on the screen. Now, download it, and take a print out for further use.
At the same time, a total of 9.7 lakh students who had registered for the class 10 exams were promoted based on their quarterly and half-yearly exam performances and attendance.
This year, the evaluation process of answer copies and TN plus two result declaration have been postponed by the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. In 2019, TN 12th result was announced on April 19. 91.30% of students qualified for higher education last year, a .02 per cent increase from 2018.

The Directorate of Government Examination (TNDGE), Tamil Nadu will announce the result of class 12 examination shortly. The result will be available at dge.tn.gov.in, tnresults.nic.in
To check score on the website, candidates will need roll number and date of birth. These will help them log-in. Since over 9 lakh candidates would be checking their results it is advised to keep the documents handy.
Since 2018, the Tamil Nadu board has stopped ‘advertising’ or announcing the names of the toppers. Hence, it announced the city or district which registers the highest pass percentage. As per DGE, this move is aimed to reduce the ‘unhealthy’ competition.

15:50 PM | Previously, Tamil Nadu has also made a decision to cancel the pending Class 10 board exams and promote students based on their internal assessment marks and attendance. The Class 10 results are also expected soon, but a date for TN 10th result is yet not confirmed.

To clear the exam, candidates have to secure at least 35 marks each in all the six subjects. This implies one needs 35 out of 100 in each subject. For subjects carrying 70 marks in theory, candidates must secure 15 marks in theory and a total of 35 marks while there is no minimum marks requirement in the practical or internal section.

The Directorate of Government Exams (DGE), Tamil Nadu will be going to announce the result of class 12th or Higher Secondary Examination (HSE) today at 5 PM. The office of the director M Palanisamy told indianexpress.com, “The result of class 12 exam will be announced on Tuesday at 5 pm. The students can check the results through the website- dge.tn.gov.in, dge1.tn.nic.in, tnresults.nic.in.”
