The hatchback segment will be packed with many new options as many vehicle makers in the Indian Market are planning to launch Micro SUV. TATA Hornbill
Tata Hornbill or the Tata HBX small SUV is clearly one of the most awaited cars of this year. It is a car for the masses and the company is looking to launch this SUV around May. Tata’s direct competitor in this segment will be Maruti Ignis and Mahindra Kuv100 in the Indian market.
The Hornbill is likely to come with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, making 84hp and 114Nm. It might also offer the more powerful 1.2-litre turbo petrol. The transmission duty will be carried by either a 5-speed manual or an AMT.
The interior of the Hornbill will include a floating Digital Touchscreen Infotainment System with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Steering Mounted Controls, fancy-looking textures for the dashboard, among other things.
Tata Hornbill, being a micro-SUV, will be priced around Rs 4 lakh to Rs 7 lakh, ex-showroom.
Citroen CC21
French vehicle-making company Citroen will start rolling out its vehicles from the second half of 2021. In which the company is planning to launch the small SUV CC21. This will be based on car group PSA’s CMP (common modular platform). The car will be hopefully launched by the company before Deepawali 2021.
Citroen may also offer a biofuel version with a blend of petrol and ethanol, making the sub-4-meter SUV India’s first biofuel car.
The SUV has a boxy design, indicating that the rear seating will have good headroom space. The company will incorporate modern features such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, keyless entry, climate control, and cruise control with a touchscreen infotainment system.
Hyundai AX
This mini-SUV by Hyundai is so futuristic looking and modern compared to any of its counterparts in this version.
Hyundai AX is expected to have the same engine as the Santro which is a 1.1-litre engine that produces 68hhp and 99Nm. It can come with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox option to keep the costs in check. The expected price of this vehicle will be around 4-7 lakh range.
