About the Toyota Company

Toyota Motor Corporation (Japanese:, Hepburn: Toyota Jidsha kabushikigaisha, IPA: [tojota], English: /tjot/) is a Japanese multinational automaker with headquarters in Toyota City, Aichi, Japan. On August 28, 1937, it was founded by Kiichiro Toyoda and incorporated. Toyota is one of the world’s greatest automakers, producing approximately 10 million vehicles annually.

Kiichiro Toyoda’s father, Sakichi Toyoda, founded Toyota Industries, a manufacturer of industrial machinery, in 1937. Both corporations are now a member of the Toyota Group, one of the world’s largest conglomerates. While the company was still a division of Toyota Industries, it developed its first product, the Type A engine, in 1934 and its first passenger car, the Toyota AA, in 1936.

What Makes Toyota Popular?

Toyota’s top priority is dependability. It’s a company that relies on repeat business, which explains why it has so many long-running models: for instance, the Toyota Corolla has been in production for an astounding 54 years, and the company would not have kept the nameplate going if it hadn’t earned the trust of generations of car buyers.

It is part of Toyota’s strategy to produce a wide variety of vehicles that share many key components. This not only reduces the cost of research and development (which in turn reduces the final price), but also allows the company to spend more time refining individual components, as they can be utilised across multiple model lines. Because it would affect so many different types of vehicles, the company simply cannot afford for its parts to malfunction frequently.

Toyota is occasionally criticised for its reluctance to implement new technologies, but this trait is also what makes a used Toyota such a secure investment. The company does not adopt new technology until it has been determined that it functions without flaw.
