Students, Teachers of Tripura University take out ‘save constitution’ rally

The rally after starting from the university library culminated in the administration building. The students and teachers were seen holding national flags during the rally.

The students and teachers of Tripura University took out a joint rally under the banner of ‘Save Constitution and Save Education’. The university authority did not permit to conduct such a rally in the institution. But even after being denied permission, the teachers and the students of the university jointly took out the rally.

Employees working in Tripura Central University also participated in the rally.

The rally after starting from the university library culminated in the administration building. The students and teachers were seen holding national flags during the rally.

Professor Salim Shah of Tripura Central University while talking to media persons, said, “Now many universities of our country are facing students’ movement.”

Prof Shah said, “This will damage the university’s normal life and the education system. The students are facing trouble,” He said, “Our Constitution gives us equality and the right to express our thoughts and ideas. But this Constitution is now under threat. Our rights are also under threat.”

He also went on further stating, ”If we keep the spirit of our Constitution then such situations would not have appeared in our universities.”

He said they have appealed to everyone to save the Constitution of the country. Shah added, “If the Constitution is threatened then our universities will die.”
