Malvi Malhotra was brutally stabbed by one of her friends and film producer named Yogesh Mahipal Singh on Monday. After which the actress was hospitalised and underwent plastic surgery.
However, the man behind the whole incident was hospitalised as he claimed of meeting with an accident one and half hours later after he stabbed her.
Now in a significant development, Versova police have arrested the producer and taken the 31-year-old into custody.
As per reports, the producer was taken into custody after he was discharged from Platinum hospital in Vasai late on Wednesday. Yogesh was then produced before Andheri metropolitan magistrate court on Thursday and has been sent to police custody till November 2
Opening up on the incident, Malvi told Navbharat Times, “I had a meeting with a DOP for her next project. After the meeting, I started walking towards my house and the young man took his car and followed me. Suddenly, he stopped his car and said, ‘please just sit in my car for 2 minutes, after that, I will never bother you.”
She further said, “I continued my walk ignoring his words. I didn’t sit in his car nor was talking. I just told him ‘don’t chase me or else I will complain to the police. He then parked his car at a distance of 100 meters, came to me from behind and stabbed me with a knife on my stomach. While attacking, he said, ‘I will kill you and I will die myself too, will not let you live.’ Within 15 seconds, stabbed me multiple times and then ran away.”
Malvi also mentioned that when this tragic incident took place, there were about 20-25 people around there who witnessed it but no one came forward to help.
