Two AAP volunteers, involved in food distribution to migrants, tested positive for COVID-19 in Delhi

Health officials have launched a contact tracing and containment operation in areas like Motilal Nehru Camp, Church Road Vasant Kunj, and Pehalwan Dhaba.

Two Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) volunteers, who were involved in the distribution of food to migrants and daily wagers in Delhi, have been tested positive for coronavirus. According to reports, they were looking after the food distribution work in different pockets of Mehrauli.


Health officials have launched a contact tracing and containment operation in areas like Motilal Nehru Camp, Church Road Vasant Kunj, and Pehalwan Dhaba.

Efforts are being made to identify people who came in contact with the two AAP volunteers.

Delhi has reported 2,981 cases and 54 people have succumbed to the disease.

Earlier on Sunday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said the national capital has fewer fatalities and new coronavirus cases this week in comparison to the previous week. It has been eight weeks since the first case of coronavirus was reported here.

The chief minister said that 622 new cases were reported in the eighth week while it was 850 in the seventh. According to Delhi government officials, around 40,000 tests have been conducted in the national capital.

In terms of the arrangement to fight coronavirus outbreak, a three-level coronavirus care system is being followed in the national capital. COVID care centres (CCC) for those having no systems, dedicated health centres for those having mild symptoms and dedicated hospitals for critical patients.

At present, 883 patients are getting treatment in seven COVID Care Centres. There are two Covid-19 Health Centres having 102 patients. Delhi has nine Covid-19 hospitals having 576 patients.
