UGC Scholarships: UGC announces Scholarship; Check Eligibility, Assistance Amount and Application Process

University Grants Commission (UGC) of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has announced various scholarships for those candidates who are in need to complete their higher education.

University Grants Commission (UGC) of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has announced various scholarships for those candidates who are in need to complete their higher education. Some of these scholarships will provide financial assistance for technical, professional, medical, and para-medical courses with common degree courses. 

Post Graduate Scholarship for University Rank Holder

The university rank Holder (URH) scholarship is given to the students who pass the first and second place in the general degree course at the undergraduate level and enroll in any postgraduate course. This scholarship is given to a maximum of 3000 students from all universities and other higher education institutions from all over the country every year. Under the URH Scholarship, an assistance of Rs. 3,100 per month is given up to 2 years. The scholarship can be applied to the National Scholarship Portal, scholarships.gov.in. Indira Gandhi PG Scholarship for Single Girl Child (SGC)

A single girl child is given by the UGC for the purpose of providing free education to women by the Government of India. This scholarship is given to the girl students who are doing non-professional courses at pg level up to 30 years of 300 scholarship every year. 36,200/- per annum is provided for two years under this scholarship scheme. PG Scholarship for SC/ST Students (PGSPROF)

Like women, PGSPROF scholarships are given to provide economic support to backward classes like SC and ST students. 7,800/- per month is provided for the duration of the course. Ishan Uday Special Scheme (NER) for students from North-Eastern India

Ishan Uday NER Scholarship is provided by the Ministry of Education and the UGC to help the promising but economically handicapped youth of the north-eastern states of India to get higher education. The NER scholarship is given to 10,000 students every year, which can be used for technical, professional, medical, and para-medical courses. An amount of Rs. 5,400 per month for a general degree course and Rs. 7,800 per month for other courses is given in the NER scholarship.
