UP Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2020 for 69000 posts: Lucknow High Court put stay on process

The court order has put on hold the much-awaited recruitment process for the 69000 teachers across the state. As per the media reports, court has provided students with a week to raise objections.

UP 69000 Assistant Teacher Recruitment: The Lucknow high court Bench has put a stay on recruitment process of 69000 teachers in Uttar Pradesh Council Primary Schools till next order. As per the media reports, court has provided students with a week to raise objections. The government will forward these objections to the UGC. The UGC will resolve all the objections by creating an expert committee. The next hearing of the case will be on 12 July.

The final allotment list of shortlisted candidates was released on June 1 by Uttar Pradesh’s Basic Education Board. The board was set to hold counselling for all the candidates whose name appears in the final merit list from today i.e. June 3, 2020 but now has been postponed.

The list includes the details of the shortlisted candidates along with the allotted district. UP 69000 Teacher Merit List is based on the performance of the candidates in the Assistant Teacher Recruitment Test (ATRE) and their educational qualification.

The stay has been put due to the controversy raised after various complaints about the questions asked in the exam.

The examination regulatory authority office released the revised answer sheet on May 9 and the result on May 12, but hundreds of candidates, failing by number one, challenged the answers in Allahabad and Lucknow bench of the High Court and filed more than 200 petitions.

Details about the Court’s Order

  • January 7, 2019 – The court ordered a stay on the recruitment drive due to cut off controversy.
  • May 6, 2020- Allahabad High court supported the imposition of increased cut off and gave verdict in the favour of the government.
  • June 3, 2020 – The UP High Court put a stay on the recruitment once again due to the controversial questions asked in the exam.
  • July 12, 2020 – The next hearing will be on counselling and allotment

Those candidates will issue appointment letters whose documents are verified and who fulfill all the eligibility criteria. Only after that selected candidates will undergo a medical examination.

UP Shikshak Baharti Examination for the recruitment of 69,000 assistant teachers in primary schools of UP was conducted on January 8, 2020. The result was released on 12 May 2020.

According to the result, 146060 candidates cleared the exam out of 3 lakhs candidates who appeared in the ATRE. UP 69000 Teacher Answer Key was uploaded on January 18 for objections and the revised answer key, then, released on May 8, 2020 on official website.
