Uttar Pradesh’s former Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA who joined the BJP a few years ago and is also the minister of animal husbandry and fisheries, Jai Prakash Nishad will also be questioned in connection with the salt scam worth crores in the Department of Food and Supplies.
The UP police are all set to give notice to the MoS on Wednesday. ACP Gomti Nagar has been already interrogated by the minister in the scam. Ashish Rai, the main accused in the two-way scam, had a lot to visit in the minister’s office.
The scam in the Department of Food and Supplies had come to the fore during the investigation of the scam of flour supply in the animal husbandry department. The FIR was lodged by Gujarat businessman Narendra Patel, who is being investigated by ACP Vibhutikhand Swatanter Kumar Singh.
ACP took the statement of Ashish Rai in jail on Tuesday. During the remand period, Ashish Rai did not respond to all questions. Because of this, the investigation could not be carried out successfully. However, ACP Singh questioned the prime accused on Tuesday, according to a report in Hindustan.
