UP: Statue of Dalit icon Bhim Rao Ambedkar vandalised in Amroha

The issue of desecrating and damaging the statue of Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar continues to prevail in the various cities of Uttar Pradesh. Recently, a statue of Dalit icon Ambedkar was vandalised in Dehra Chak village of Dhanora police station area.

Despite a grilled trap around the idol, miscreants managed to break through the chamber and uprooted the statue and broke it. According to the reports, when villagers saw the vandalised statue of Rao early in the morning, they gathered in anger to report the incident.

The police reached the spot and filed a report against the miscreants which brought some cool to the irked villagers.

As reported, Police officers have vowed and ordered to bring in new and even bigger statue of Bhim Rao Ambedkar. Moreover, security has been deployed for the safety of statue.

ASP Birjesh Singh said that, “the statue of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar was broken despite the covered iron net. People have been extinguished and quenched. In place of of a broken statue, an even bigger idol is being ordered.”
