UP: Teen given electric shocks, burned with wax; family confined for 36 hours over suspicion of theft

In an appalling incident, a family of seven members including 18-month baby was confined to a small room of the three-floor building for nearly 36 hours by group men, over suspicion of jewellery theft.

According to the media reports, the men allegedly assaulted members of the family, including a 12-year-old boy- whom they assumed to be the prime suspect for theft.

The teenager identified as Aamir Khan was given electric shocks, burned with cigarette butts, kicked in the gut and punched on the face multiple times. The family was not even provided food and water during the entire time.

A video of the injured and scared teenager, revealed grave injury marks below his eyes, face, limbs, back with burn marks. He was in deep trauma and was continuously shivering out of pain and fear when Dial 112 team came to rescue him and his family members on Sunday morning.

Earlier, on Saturday morning, the elder brother of the kid, jumped off the third-floor building of the accused men, in order to call for help but since then he went missing, according to family members.

The victims were identified as Nizam (48), his wife Mubina (45), Sonu 20 (elder son), Ruksana (daughter-in-law), Hassan (18-month grandson), Aamir Khan and Samir (8).

The accused men have been booked under IPC sections 147 (riot), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 324 (Voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons), 342 (Punishment for wrongful confinement), 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 448 (Punishment for house-trespass), 504 (Whoever intentionally insults, and thereby gives provocation to any person, intending or knowing it to be likely that such provocation will cause him to break the public peace, or to commit any other offence) and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation).
