In a bizarre incident of a relationship gone wrong, a 20-year-old woman threw hot mustard oil on 22-year-old man just hours before his wedding day.
The woman is a resident of Mazargate in Bulandshahr’s Anoopshahr area while the victim has been identified as Umesh Joshi.
The incident took place on Sunday morning hours before Joshi’s wedding. He has sustained burn injuries on his face.
The police said that the woman who is now under arrest, confessed the crime after she learned about her lover’s wedding with someone else
As per the reports, the woman sneaked into the man’s house at around 4 am and caught him. He was sleeping and couldn’t stop the woman’s attack. The accused has been arrested.
The victim’s mother, Basanti claimed that the accused woman wanted to stop the wedding after he failed to force her way in marrying the victim.
The man has now been discharged after given primary aid at a local hospital. He has sustained burn injuries in his face but is stable. As per the sources, the marriage will happen as scheduled.
Initially, a case of acid attack was registered but later the police established in the investigation that the substance was hot mustard oil and not acid. Hence the police will take remand under section 327 of IPC. (Voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapon/means).
