The results of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination 2019 are out and a total of 829 candidates cleared one of the toughest exams in India.

As now everyone is busy congratulating the toppers, a hilarious coincidence is of one candidate way down the list. Rahul Modi, roll number 6312980 is listed at Rank 420 in the results.

Within hours as the results were out, the fact that a to-be Civil Servant carries both Rahul and Modi – the names of the two biggest political rival leaders in India – in his name has caught everyone’s attention.

Neither Congress’s Rahul Gandhi nor PM Narendra Modi would have ever imagined that a candidate carrying one’s first name and another’s last name would crack the Civil Services examination.

Rahul Modi is expected to make it to Central Services Group A given his rank as IAS, IPS, and IFS cadres are all to be given to candidates with higher ranks.

The final result is available on the official website of UPSC.

Among those who had availed the EWS quota, which was implemented in the Civil Services Exam for the first time in 2019, 78 candidates have been selected.

The result of 11 candidates has been kept withheld.

UPSC conducts the Civil Services exam every year for selection of candidates to Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and Other Central Services.

The Civil Services exam 2020 was scheduled to be held on May 31. The exam has been rescheduled to October 4 in view of the coronavirus crisis.
