The reigning champions, the United States of America play France in the quarter-final of the FIBA Basketball World Cup, at Dongfeng Nissan Cultural and Sports Centre.

The United States of America is aiming to become the first team to win three Basketball World Cups, having won the 2010 and 2014 editions. They have won their last three games however they were run extremely close by Turkey as the game went into Turkey winning 93-92.

France came very close to beating Australia in the previous game and lost by 98-100 but had won the game against Lithuania 78-75. This game is a must win for them against the USA but will be tough being up against the toughest team.

France will be a tough nut to crack, even for the USA. The Aussies found it as they just about managed to escape with a 100-98 win in the last round. This was the first loss for Vincent Collet’s men at this World Cup.
