In a bizarre incident, a worker in Agra district of Uttar Pradesh was sterilised on the pretext that he’ll be provided with a one-month job assignment.
Naresh who is the father of three hails from Shahganj area and worked in a shoe factory. After the factory closed down, he involved himself in daily wage labour work.
On Monday, September 16, his wife Seema complained to the SSP. She alleged that on September 2, while her husband was looking for work at Arjun Nagar, a person named Udayveer reached out and told him about work opportunity at Bichpuri health centre. He further assured Naresh, that the latter won’t require to search for work every day as this is a one month project.
Reportedly, Naresh fall into Udayveer’s bluff and went with him to bank situated at Saket Colony where the latter took his Aadhaar card, though no account was opened. Later, Udayveer took Naresh to the Bichpuri health centre. It is alleged that Naresh was made unconscious there. After he regained consciousness, he realised that he has been sterilized.
The family admitted him to the hospital. On the complaint of the Naresh’s wife, Officer MP Singh directed Shahganj’ Inspector to investigate in the case.
