The holy occasion of Vasanta Purnima 2021 for Hindus who celebrate is falling on 28th March 2021, Sunday. The day of Purnima or the full moon days holds much importance as most of the time there are some major festivals which take place on this day or these are Jayanti days. Other than this, the days of Purnima are also regarded as highly auspicious and pious, and fasting on this day relieves the observer from their sins and bless them with good health, fortune, and longevity.

Vasant Purnima 2021: Timings

This year the Vasant Purnima 2021 Tithi will begin from 3:27 AM on March 28 and can go on until 12:17 AM on March 29.

Significance

The Vasant Purnima marks the start of one of the vital Hindu festivals, i.e. Holi. The day is extremely pious for performing varied sacred acts and for performing puja and observing fast. Crops are harvested during this time and a lot of abundances can be observed.  

Vasant Purnima 2021: Celebration and Rituals 

The celebrations start a day prior to the eve. Temples of Lord Vishnu are decorated with garlands, flowers, and lights and the idols of the deities are also adorned with new clothes, jewelry, and garlands. 

The devotees must perform the Satyanarayan Puja and recite Satyanarayan Katha to get the divine blessings of Lord Vishnu. The people who have observed a fast must also chant Goddess Lakshmi mantras and slokas during the puja to please Goddess Lakshmi.

The standard puja samagri of Vasanta Purnima Vrat consists of fruits, sweets, milk, water, nuts, flowers, vermillion, sandalwood paste, turmeric powder, betel leaves, and cash.
