Shocked by former Finance minister P Chidambaram’s remark on centre’s Kashmir policy, Union Minster M Venkaiah Naidu said that his comments were irresponsible. He calls his remark borderline anti-national on Saturday, reported ANI.

He slammed the former CM of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah, Naidu accusing him of having changed his ‘tone and tune’ after he lost the power over the state. Naidu called him hypocritical and opportunistic regarding his criticism against the center. Jibingon Congress, Naidu said that after losing power, Congress and its allies have become like ‘fish out of water’.

This attack comes soon after P Chidambaram’s statement on the state of Kashmir while addressing a meeting organised by Manthan in Hyderabad on Friday. Chidambaram said that he had a feeling that Kashmir is nearly lost for India, blaming the central government, he said, that their tactic of using brutal force is not the correct way to deal with the issue. Chidambaram further added that he feared the situation would worsen if the BJP-led NDA government did not make a course correction in framing their policies for Kashmir.
