Veteran Marathi actor Ramesh Bhatkar passes away after battle with cancer

Veteran Marathi actor Ramesh Bhatkar passed away at the age of 70. He breathed his last at the Elizabeth Hospital in Mumbai. Ramesh Bhatkar was fighting cancer for the last one year.

Ramesh Bhatkar started his career from theatre, his play ‘Tears flowed’ was loved by both critics and fans. Some other major plays he acted in were ‘Some time early’, ‘Aap takheheheheheel’, ‘Rahu Ketu’, ‘Mukta’. He made his debut in the Marathi film with ‘Chandoba Chandobas Bhagalas Ka’ in 1977. After that he worked in several films like ‘Ashtavinayak’, ‘World Kari Salam’, ‘Your Manasan’.

Last year, in the 98th All India Marathi Natya Sammelan, Ramesh Bhatkar was awarded with ‘Jeev Gaurav’ award. Even at the age of seventy, Bhatkar’s zeal for his work has not diminished. The signs of the aggrieved have never been seen on his face. A few months ago, he had acted in ‘Hey Mein Me’ and ‘My Husband Suddhavyavati’.
