Green SM Electric Ride Service: Vietnam’s electric ride service Green SM is getting ready to step into India’s ride-hailing market. The company, which is backed by VinFast, has said it is in the “final stages of preparation” and is building its India plan with VinFast as its vehicle partner.
Reports say the first big push is aimed at Delhi NCR, and the company wants to move carefully before it grows into other cities. Green SM is not trying to look like a simple cab app. It runs more like a managed electric fleet, where the cars, drivers, service rules and customer experience are all kept under one system.

Delhi first
The company’s early work is already visible in Delhi NCR. Driver hiring has started, and Green SM has been placing ads to bring in driver-partners. Those ads use the line “Driver Nahi, Partner Bano” and promise earnings of up to ₹40,000 a month, along with insurance and performance-linked incentives. Green SM says it is also trying to build a “professional, stable and transparent” driver system in India. The firm has said Delhi is the first phase, while other cities will be added later in a slow and careful way.
VinFast’s bigger India plan
Green SM is important for VinFast too. VinFast has already said it plans to bring its wider electric ride-hailing service to India, and Reuters reported that the company’s India market is a key test for its business.
VinFast’s first overseas factory in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, has an initial capacity of 50,000 EVs a year and can scale to 150,000. Reuters also said VinFast plans to eventually expand other businesses in India, including its electric ride-hailing service. That makes Green SM more than a side project. It could become a way to show off VinFast cars in real daily use.

What is Green SM?
Green SM describes itself as a full electric mobility service, not just a ride app. Its own site lists Green SM Car, Green SM Premium, Green SM Bike and Green SM Express as part of its service set. The company says it is focused on zero-emission travel and a 5-star service ecosystem. It has not yet said exactly which VinFast models will be used in India, and it has also not shared its investment size or fleet target. Green SM called market talk about the rollout scale “unofficial.” The company says it will first focus on safe charging, steady operations and customer trust before growing bigger.
