VITEEE 2020 entrance exam cancelled, admission on basis of 12th marks

The institute has also announced that now admission to interested students in the undergraduate courses will be given on the basis of the candidate’s performance in Class 12th marks.

VITEEE 2020 Updates: The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has announced that the VIT Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE) 2020 stands cancelled keeping the health and safety first priority in view of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic which has surrounded the country.

The official notice has been released regarding the cancellation of the exam on the institute’s official website. The institute has also announced that now admission to interested students in the undergraduate courses will be given on the basis of the candidate’s performance in Class 12th marks.

The official notice released by VIT reads, “Conducting VITEEE-2020 in various cities with rising infections has become risky and dangerous. To keep the student and parent community safe, VITEEE-2020 stands cancelled.”

“The admission will be based on +2 or Pre-University marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology,” the notice further states.

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main scores will also be considered for students who want to take admission into engineering courses at the undergraduate level, mention in a notice of VIT.

“Those who scored in JEE (Main) will be given weightage. The forms for providing the marks and JEE (Main) scores have already been provided in the VIT Website ‘www.vit.ac.in,” the notice reads.

Candidates are also asked to update VITEEE applications at the earliest. In case the results of the Board exam taken are not announced, they can upload the marks as soon as the results release.
