Watch: After awarding 'Chappal' to Arnab Goswami, Anurag Kashyap shares video where journalist lauded the filmmaker

Many Bollywood celebrities have been vocal about the media trials in the Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. One such celebrity is filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. Taking a jibe at Goswami, Anurag Kashyap and comedian Kunal Kamra went to see Goswami at his office, but were not allowed without prior permission. They wanted him to award a framed ‘Chappal’ for Goswami’s ‘excellence in journalism’.

After awarding him ‘Chappal’, Anurag Kashyap shared an old video of Arnab interviewing him. Sharing the video on Twitter, Kashyap wrote, “Who did this?”

In the video, Goswami begins saying, “I am so proud to have you in this studio, very very super talented Anurag Kashyap.” And the rest part of the video shows Kashyap visiting Goswami at Republic TV office (his current workplace) with a special surprise. And that’s a sleeper, an award to Arnab.

The ongoing and controversial investigation of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death has highlighted the media trials and biased coverage of the same. Regarding this, Arnab Goswami, news anchor of Republic TV has faced a continuous backlash and repercussions for his insensitive reportage of the case.

In the recent development in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Mumbai Zone has arrested at least six persons including Rhea Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty and Samuel Miranda in connection into the drugs angle in the death of the Bollywood actor. In the continuing raids from Mumbai to Goa, the NCB teams are searching for key players involved in the supply of illegal substances to film industry professionals.
