As the coronavirus cases are increasing rapidly in India, the quest for the vaccine to stop the pandemic to take an ugly path is also increasing. From injecting disinfectant, drinking alcohol to consuming ‘gau mutra’ and gobar, politicians of all hues have come up with their version of COVID cures without any scientific basis.
In the latest bizarre incident, BJP MP Sukhbir Singh Jaunapuria has claimed that a mud pack and blowing a conch shell can help cure COVID-19.
In a video, the BJP MP said, “I naturally believe that if your lungs and kidney are working efficiently, then you are healthy. Blowing a conch shell is an important part. Immunity does not get strong from medicines. Immunity comes from naturality. Sitting in the mud pack and blowing a conch shell can help to curb the coronavirus spread. People should go out in the Sun, rain, and expose themselves to nature.”
Earlier this year, Jaunapuria formed a ‘ring of fire’ and sat within it while performing yoga ‘asanas’ on the occasion of International Yoga Day. Sukhbir Singh covered his body with mud and also highlighted the benefits of the same. “Mud protects your body from serious diseases including diabetes and clears your skin.”
Before BJP MP Sukhbir Singh Jaunapuria’s unusual claim, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal had last month announced the launch of ‘Bhabhi Ji papad’, which he claimed had ingredients that boosted one’s immunity and would help fight the novel coronavirus.
Later, the Union Minister tested positive for the deadly coronavirus.
Ahead of Ram Mandir Bhoomi Pujan in Ayodhya, BJP MP from Dausa Lok Sabha constituency in Rajasthan Jaskaur Meena claimed that novel coronavirus will end as soon as Ram temple is constructed in Ayodhya.
A similar claim was made by her party colleague and BJP MLA in Madhya Pradesh Rameshwar Sharma. The MP pro team speaker, Rameshwar Sharma had said that coronavirus pandemic will end with the beginning of Ram Temple construction in Ayodhya.
