Watch: Heights of civic apathy! Students forced to risk life to reach dilapidated school in Mumbai

A video has gone viral on social media thumping our chests out of shock as a few students carrying bags on their back can be seen risking their lives to reach their dilapidated school in Mumbai’s Chunabhatti area.

As per the reports, the students on daily basis take the help of rope to walk across the ruined damaged building. Local residents said the building is 70 years old and is in very bad shape. The children have to take the support of the rope to get in or out of the building. In the video, a person could be seen guiding the students from the school corridor to safety.

The residents have allegedly made several complaints about the state of the building but BMC has reportedly not taken any steps to improve the condition. Further, residents complained that BMC is also not not giving permission for repair or construction. Parents fear that in monsoon the building may collapse at any time, endangering the lives of students.
