While the government is making efforts to reduce usage of one-time plastic products, a meat vendor from Arnachal Pradesh is spreading his own ways of saving the environment. A fisherman from the north-eastern state has taken the opportunity to wrap his fish up in a new, innovative and eco-friendly way!

The video is going viral on social media showing a local meat vendor in Tirbin, Arunachal Pradesh wrapping fish in a leaf and tying it using other parts of the plant. In the video, one can see heaps of leaves are placed next to him which are used for packaging purposes.

The 59-second clip was initially shared by Bharatiya Janata Party minister, Kiren Rijiju, with the caption, “PM Narendra Modi has told us not to use plastics so we are using local leaves because plastics are no more available.” While explaining the video, he wrote, “A local meat vendor at remote Tirbin, Lepa Rada Dist, Arunachal Pradesh.”

The video, which has gone viral, has been viewed over 80,000 times. It has received over 17,000 likes and more than 3,000 retweets. Netizens have appreciated the vendor for replacing plastic with a biodegradable alternative.
