Watch: Police SUV allegedly refuses to help accident victim in Bengaluru

An SUV belonging to a senior police official on Monday refused to help and shift a road-accident victim to the hospital even after repeated request by the people in Bengaluru.

Going by the reports, a woman, who was heading towards Town Hall, was injured in a hit-and-run accident around 11:15 am on Sirsi Circle flyover near KR Market. She sustained injuries on her face, hands and legs. Fellow motorists helped the woman sit by the roadside and gave her water.

By then, a police vehicle — Renault Duster (KA01G 5958) — came on the same route and its driver stopped to check why a crowd had gathered. However, when the bystanders asked for help from the cop’s vehicle, it refused and went by.

The video of the incident is going viral on social media, criticising the cops for the insensitivity.

According to records with the regional transport office, the Renault Duster has been allotted to an official of the rank of additional director general of police
