Watch: Protester pulls women Deputy Collector hair during pro-CAA rally in Rajgarh

A pro- Citizenship Amendment Act rally organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party at Rajgarh in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday took violent turn after a protester attacked women police officials for the latter using force against them.

A video from the incident is going viral showing additional collector Priya Verma slapping a man while collector Nidhi Nivedita taking on a few others at the rally. Later, a protester could be seen pulling the hair of Deputy Collector Priya, after she had hit and dragged a few people who allegedly were BJP workers.

According to the reports, permission was not granted for the rally and Section 144 was in place in the area.

Reports have quoted Verma saing that a man pulled her hair from back while another kicked her in the waist. “All that (she taking on some men) happened after it. Despite our requests to the protesters to sit down, they did not pay any heed,” she claimed.

However, the BJP hit out at the two bureaucrats and claimed ‘Hitlerism’ would not be tolerated in Madhya Pradesh.

Following the Sunday incident, the police have registered a case against two and has arrested one for hitting and pulling hair of Verma during the demonstration. Other 150 people have been booked for violating Section 144. Of these 150, 12 have been identified by police.
