As per sources, it is being said that former Congress leader Rahul Gandhi would be attending the popular bull-taming sport Jallikattu in Madurai on the occasion of Pongal on January 14, 2021.
Rahul Gandhi who left India on December 27, 2020, a day before 136th foundation day will visit Tamil Nadu for the occasion of Jallikattu.
The Jallikattu has been in the news for quite some time, mostly by the animal activists as to how wrong the festival of jallikattu is. None the less, Tamil Nadu government has allowed minimum and controlled gathering for jallikattu.
With Rahul Gandhi attending this event, he will also kick off the party campaign for the upcoming elections in Tamil Nadu. The assembly elections are due in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Kerala, Assam and Puducherry in March-April this year.
