Kolkata: Three BJP workers have been arrested for raising the slogan ‘Desh ke gaddaron ko goli maro salon ko’ during the rally of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in West Bengal capital Kolkata yesterday.

A complaint has been lodged at Kolkata’s New Market Police Station on the charge of raising the controversial slogan. Police registered a case under the following IPC’s IPC 505, 506, 34, and 153A against the three activists.

Videos of this controversial slogan being raised have gone viral, in the viral videos, it can be very evidently seen that a group of people are shouting provocative slogan ‘Shoot the traitors of the country’ in the procession carrying the BJP flag.

Yesterday, while going to the Union Home Minister’s rally held at the Shaheed Minar Maidan in Kolkata, a group of BJP activists shouted “‘Desh ke gaddaron ko goli maro salon ko’” while waving the party flag. While going to the Shaheed Minar Maidan, the members of the group of activists took the party flag and they were heard chanting this slogan.

The Left parties and Congress has shot criticism at the BJP for raising this slogan and demanded strict action against those who raised slogans from the Mamta government.

It needs to be mentioned here that during the Assembly elections in Delhi, an inflammatory slogan was used in the meeting of Union Minister and BJP leader Anurag Thakur in Rithala area of ​​Delhi on 27 January. The Election Commission had banned Anurag Thakur from campaigning for 72 hours. However, recently when Anurag Thakur was asked about this, he said, “I never raised such a slogan.”
