The first four nominations of contestants for US Elections has been over. There are some doubts that lay on the Democratic Presidential Nomination.

Super Tuesday usually clarifies those doubts, the audience picks and what does the audience want in terms of candidates who will be going to the Delegates for the Democratic National Convention.

It does come at a very dramatic point in the race, as president Joe Biden is surging to become the moderate candidate who has the power to challenge Sen. Bernie Sanders.

What is Super Tuesday?

Tuesday, March 3 marks a big day as the four early nominating states would held their votes for a primary US Presidential candidate from Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, and Virginia – along with Democrats Abroad (whose voting runs for a week) and American Samoa.

In total, 1,357 of the 1,991 pledged delegates a candidate needs to win the nomination outright are up for grabs on Super Tuesday.

Poll time closing also varies as per state: Vermont’s poll will close by 7 while Eastern and Carolina might be till 11.

Super Tuesday is hugely important for the current frontrunners, Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden, and could be crucial in deciding the future of Elizabeth Warren in US elections 2020.

With so many states up for grabs, they each have a chance not just to capture delegates, but also to win in large swing states – like Minnesota, Colorado and Virginia – and thereby signal that they could be strong national candidates.

It needs to be mentioned here that, Former US vice president Joe Biden took his presidential campaign to Texas on Monday, one day before residents head to the polls to vote in the state’s primary elections on Super Tuesday.
