Recently, WhatsApp chats of Rhea Chakraborty have been accessed that gave the case a new drug angle. In these chats, the actress can be seen talking about drugs with Jaya Saha, Sushant Singh Rajput’s former talent manager, Samuel Miranda, Sushant’s manager, and a man called Gaurav Arya. Narcotics Control Bureau is now investigating the case.
Who is Gaurav Arya?
Arya, a hotelier by profession based in Goa, asserted that he never supplied any drugs and has never met Sushant. His restaurant Cafe Cotinga and other resorts are well-known for parties in Goa.
According to the latest reports, Gaurav was born and brought up in Old Delhi. He started his career with an advertising agency called Grey Worldwide in Delhi. He studied music in the UK and moved to Goa in 2007. His father Ram Arya is also in the hospitality business. Gaurav is connected to the media industry as his brother Avijit Arya is behind Media Moguls, a digital marketing agency that deals in boosting revenue for hotels. Gaurav’s sister Simran owns a designer women’s wear brand, Carousel. It has an outlet at Gaurav’s hotel.
The hotelier has been connected to several Bollywood celebrities. One such celebrity is singer Anushka Manchanda.
The internal documents of Enforcement Directorate (ED), reported by IANS, states that CBD or Cannabidiol, a chemical compound extracted from Marijuana which is banned over certain concentrations was procured by Rhea to mix it in the coffee of Sushant Singh Rajput.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Wednesday registered an NDPS case against her based on an ED request to probe the drug angle in the death case.
Initially, Mumbai Police had said Sushant had committed suicide. However, the late actor’s father KK Singh filed an FIR with the Patna Police on July 25 and accused Rhea of abetting his son’s suicide. Rhea’s parents Indrajit Chakraborty and Sandhya Chakraborty, brother Showik Chakraborty, and common friends Samuel Miranda and Shruti Modi were named in the FIR.
